SAN ANTONIO — Police have identified two persons of interest in the deaths of a pregnant woman and her boyfriend who were found the day after Christmas.
The San Antonio Police Department shared surveillance video of two people in separate vehicles near the scene where Savanah Soto and Matthew Guerra were found with gunshot wounds in a locked car. Police say one of the people seen in the video was driving the silver Kia Optima that belonged to the victims, and the other was driving a dark Chevy Silverado.
"Anyone with any information on this dark colored pickup truck, with a bed cover, or the two persons of interest seen in this video, is encouraged to call SAPD Homicide at (210) 207-7674 or (210) 207-7440," police said in a post Thursday afternoon. "You can remain anonymous when providing any information on this case."
Leon Valley police issued a CLEAR Alert for the 18-year-old Soto on Christmas, after she was scheduled to go to the hospital Saturday to be induced. She never showed up. Family members said they hadn't heard from Soto since Friday, and started organizing searches on Christmas night.
A family member on Tuesday was alerted about a car found in an apartment complex in the Medical Center area of San Antonio. Authorities confirmed to KENS 5 that Soto and Guerra were found inside, dead from gunshot wounds to the head.
SAPD also said in a report that an unborn baby was dead, and Police Chief William McManus said it's believed the car was in the parking lot for three to four days.
Police didn't specify when exactly the footage was captured, only saying it was in the days leading up to when the victims' bodies were found and "very close" to the location.
