MACON, Ga. — One man is dead after a shooting early Tuesday morning near Pio Nono Avenue in Macon, according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. in the 3800 block of Andrews Drive. Deputies found 51-year-old David Maynard Morris Jr behind the house. He was unresponsive. Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley pronounced him dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Department, Morris Jr. attempted to enter a residence when he was shot.
