Officer injured after suspect rams into patrol car with stolen truck in Henry County; GBI investigating

Here's what we know.

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently investigating an incident where an officer fired his weapon at a driver in Henry County, the agency announced Sunday.

The agency said no one was shot in the incident, but an officer was left injured.

Around 4:35 p.m., Henry County officers located a stolen truck on Business Center Drive in Stockbridge. While officers attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, the driver allegedly rammed it into an officer's patrol car. The officer's identity has not been released, and his condition is unknown.

The GBI said the officer shot at the driver, but he was not hit.

The suspect then led police on a "lengthy" car chase, with multiple agencies assisting before the chase was stopped and he was taken into custody.

The GBI is investigating the incident, which is customary for shootings involving officers.
