ATLANTA — A man was shot and killed by Roswell Police on Tuesday after allegedly attempting to stab a MARTA bus driver, according to authorities.
This happened on Alpharetta Highway/Highway 9 after 2 p.m. MARTA Police said the man was on the bus, and he refused to pay his fare. When the driver asked him to leave the bus, police said the man "became irate."
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the suspect charged at them with a pair of scissors, leading one officer to shoot him. The shooting happened right in front of the Jackson Acura car dealership on Alpharetta Highway.
The suspect was rushed to North Fulton Hospital, where he later died, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office.
Two lanes of Alpharetta Highway are closed between Mansell Road and Houze Way.
The GBI will conduct its own personal investigation, as is customary. No other details were released.
