Man found shot early Saturday in Macon, sheriff's office says

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says it happened around 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

MACON, Ga. — A 40-year-old man is in the hospital recovering after Bibb County deputies found him early Saturday morning with a gunshot wound.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says someone called their Emergency 911 Center around 1:15 a.m. Saturday to report a "person down" at the Exxon gas station at 36 Spring Street. When deputies got there, they found the man.

Paramedics took him to the hospital for treatment, where he is listed in critical condition. The sheriff's office says no one else was hurt during the shooting.

They have not released the victim's name or any additional information about what led up to the shooting. The sheriff's office says they are investigating all of that.
