MACON, Ga. — A man was shot and injured inside his home in Macon on Tuesday night, according to a report from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
43-year-old William Wimberly was sitting in a chair in his bedroom talking on the phone at his home on Lackey Drive near Houston Avenue. He heard several shots fired and got down on the floor.
According to the report, Wimberly said he started feeling pain and realized he had been shot once in both arms. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
His uncle, who lives next door, said he saw a vehicle, possibly a van, drive by just before shots were fired.
Three rounds were found on the scene at the edge of the yard. They were turned over to the crime lab for further investigation.
Wimberly is in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.
