MACON, Ga. — A 23-year-old Macon man could be headed to prison on a life sentence after being convicted with a 2017 shooting.
According to the district attorney’s office, Denyke Glenn was found guilty of armed robbery, aggravated assault and aggravated battery after a four-day jury trial. He faces up to life in prison, plus 20 years, but his sentencing date hasn’t been set yet.
Those charges stem from an incident in the Bloomfield neighborhood on Feb. 9, 2017.
Glenn and two people went to a home to buy marijuana, but Glenn instead shot the person selling it to them at point-blank, shattering his spine. After the shooting, Glenn then robbed the man of the drugs and tried to drive off.
The victim’s mother heard the gunshots and woke up to find her son shot. She pulled on the door of a Honda leaving her driveway, causing Glenn to crash into a tree.
