‘I’ll kill you:’ Report says Warner Robins couple fought days before fatal stabbing

The woman arrested after allegedly stabbing and killing her girlfriend in front of Warner Robins police in December was involved in another fight with her girlfriend just days before.

A Warner Robins police report says the woman, 25-year-old Shaneka Smith, and her girlfriend, 31-year-old Monis Traci Howard-Roberts, were at the same apartment at Foxwood Townhomes on Dec. 23 when the fight happened.

That was four days before Smith allegedly killed Howard-Roberts.

Howard-Roberts told officers on the night of Dec. 23 that Smith had a few drinks and left to go to a bar on foot, but she later called saying she was lost and needed to be picked up.

Howard-Roberts went to pick up Smith and an argument broke out inside of the car. Smith began to punch her in the face.

Howard-Roberts said she pulled into Houston Medical Center, where she told Smith there would be witnesses. Smith got out of the car and left when Howard-Roberts called 911.

Howard-Roberts said she made it back home, where she greeted her cousin, 25-year-old Patricia Williams.

The report says Smith returned to the apartment uninvited, saying 'you know what it is' and 'I'll kill you.' Patricia was able to get Smith out of the apartment.

Smith returned to the apartment yet again, after sending a text to Patricia saying she was cold. They gave her a jacket, but Smith came inside and followed Howard-Roberts to her bedroom, where she got into bed with her.

Howard-Roberts said she asked Smith to stop after she started kissing her. She said Smith got angry and started choking her.

That's when Howard-Roberts said she screamed loud enough for Williams to hear. Williams came to the room and pulled Smith off of her.

After hitting Patricia in the face, Smith turned back to Howard-Roberts and continued to try and hit her.

Patricia tried to pull Smith off of Howard-Roberts again, when 28-year-old Kevin Williams came to the room to help.

Together, both Patricia and Kevin said they were able to pin Smith down while Howard-Roberts called 911. After Smith calmed down, they released her.

Howard-Roberts said she and Smith left the apartment to wait outside for officers.

The report says Smith told a different story. She said she was willingly let inside the apartment, then went upstairs to tell Howard-Roberts she was leaving and to get her stuff.

That's when she said they began to argue. Smith said she was walking down the stairs when Kevin and Patricia started hitting her face. She said they pinned her to the floor and continued to hit her.

Smith also said she had been living with Howard-Roberts for three months already.

Emergency Medical Services was called to the scene to check on Smith's injuries, which included a swollen area above the right eye and some bleeding coming from her right ear.

The report said Howard-Roberts had a scratch on her chest and Patricia had a scratch on her finger.

Smith declined to go to the hospital, was then taken to the police department and charged with battery.

Although the bond for Smith's battery charge is set at $1,300, her murder and aggravated assault charges are not bondable.

An additional charge for obstruction of a police officer has a bond set at $1,300 as well.
