MACON, Ga. — A man was shot and killed after trying to break into a car at a Macon hotel early Tuesday morning, according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
It happened at the Riverview Hotel, located at 205 Broadway in south Macon just after 3 a.m.
36-year-old Eric Ivan Searcy-Bryson was trying to break into a parked Mercedes Sedan where a person was sleeping. When the person inside woke up to him trying to break in they shot Searcy-Bryson. He was taken to Atrium Health Navicent where he was later pronounced dead.
No one else was injured in the shooting.
The shooting is still under investigation. 13WMAZ will provide additional updates when they are made available.
