A Barnesville man will spend 33 months in federal prison for threatening to kill President Biden by blowing up the White House.

Prosecutors say Travis Ball pleaded guilty Wednesday at U.S. District Court in Macon.

They say in March 2021, Ball wrote to Biden saying, "I am going to kill you and your family, and everyone in the White House."

Last year, Ball was also accused of mailing letters to the Jones County Sheriff's Office and court clerk threatening to bomb buildings.

Investigators said the letters contained a powdery substance he claimed was anthrax.

A federal judge Wednesday ordered Ball to pay a $7,500 fine and serve three years supervised release after his prison term.

He was also convicted of sending anthrax threats in 2017.
