50-year-old man charged with aggravated assault, accused of shooting woman near Mumford Road

The shooting happened on Thursday night around 6 p.m. on Fair Street.

MACON, Ga. — A man has been arrested and charged in a shooting from Thursday night, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

50-year-old James Edward Phillips is believed to be tied to a shooting at a home on Fair Street near Mumford Road where a 32-year-old woman was shot around 6 p.m. on Nov. 8.  

The woman is still recovering this morning. Phillips is being held without bond and faces one count of Aggravated Assault. 

Investigators are still looking into the shooting and are asking anyone with information to call the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751 -7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
