GBI: Georgia teen charged with strangling 10-year-old sibling to death

Officers arrived to the home in Glennville and found the 10-year-old unresponsive

TATTNALL COUNTY, Ga. — A 16-year-old Georgia boy was arrested Friday on charges that he murdered his 10-year-old sibling.

According to a news release from the GBI, both Tattnall County deputies and GBI investigators arrested the teen.

The GBI was requested by Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office investigators on Wednesday to assist with a death investigation after they responded to an unresponsive person call.

When deputies got to the scene on Barnard Road in Glennville, they found the 10-year-old victim, who was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

The victim’s body was taken to the GBI Crime Lab on Thursday for an autopsy, and the GBI says those results show the victim was strangled to death.

Neither the victim nor suspect have been identified at this time.
