We’re learning more about a Friendswood teen accused of shooting two people, killing one of them.
The shooting happened on Saturday, Dec. 23 at a home on La Salle Street, which is in a neighborhood off of FM 528. According to court documents, Connor Hilton told investigators he'd been thinking about committing homicide for a long time. They also say he convinced his mother to buy him the gun, a claim Hilton's attorney, Jennifer Carpenter, said isn't true.
Investigators said Hilton called the two victims over to his home and was showing off the weapon when he shot them.
Both victims were shot in the head, according to court documents. Eighteen-year-old Ethan Riley died from his injuries. The other teen remains in critical condition.
A person who was hiding in the bathroom was the person who called police after reportedly hearing gunfire. According to court documents, that witness also told investigators that Hilton walked by the bathroom door, saying “What have I done?”
Hilton reportedly told police the victims did nothing to provoke the shooting. He’s charged with murder and aggravated assault and remains behind bars.
He remains behind bars. Investigators said during their interview with Hilton that he confessed to the shootings.
Carpenter released the following statement from the Hilton family.
"The parents of Connor Hilton cannot express enough their deepest condolences to the victims’ families who have been heavily on the Hiltons’ hearts and minds as they try to navigate this devastating situation. The Hilton family wants to thank everyone who has reached out in love and support, including all who sent positive comments about Connor’s character and good nature in general. The family asks for continued prayers for everyone affected, especially the victims’ families.."
