'He wanted to do good': Friend remembers slain Macon teen Antwione Williams

Someone shot and killed 18-year old Antwione Williams over the weekend.

MACON, Ga. — At the corner of Blossom Avenue and Iris Street, Craig and Tomika Prouty run a street ministry called Truth Revealed Global Ministries.

"We're trying to give back to those who are less fortunate and have a positive influence in this area in Unionville," says Craig.

It's how they met Antwione Williams four years ago.

"He was one of the first youth that we took under our wings. When we would come to Macon to pick up my nieces and nephews and take them to different events around town, positive events, he would jump right in the car with them. He wanted to be a part of that. He wanted to do good," says Tomika.

Williams attended Westside High School and left on Friday for Thanksgiving break, but now, he won't return.

"I immediately thought about his family and all his friends, and just the impact his death is going to have on everyone," says Tomika.

On Sunday morning, Bibb County deputies found 18-year old Williams outside a home on Cresthill Avenue, shot multiple times in the back and head.

"Antwione was very lovable, very fun, such a sweetheart," says Tomika. "His goal was to be a rapper one day. We would see him making beats and rapping, and that was his thing — he wanted to graduate and become a rapper."

As they approach the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Williams' friends say they're thankful for the time they had with him, even though it was short.

On Monday, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said they're still investigating what lead up to the shooting. So far, no arrests have been made.
