CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — It's been five months since a deadly shooting unfolded outside an apartment in Clayton County following a high school graduation celebration.

Tangiela Moore said her son, Jakeel Allen, 31, was killed on May 16, outside a unit at the Archway Apartments off Rountree Road in Riverdale. Moore said she received a phone call she'll never forget just after 11 p.m. on that Thursday in May.

"It was the worst phone call of my life," Moore said.

She said her son had been at a high school graduation party for the daughter of one of his friends.  She said the party then carried over to the friend's apartment that evening.

Moore said from her understanding, it was sometime after 10 p.m. when her son was shot and killed outside the unit. She said her son's friend had told them several different stories about what happened leading up to the shooting.

The family knows there are people out there who know what happened and who pulled the trigger.

"I will not rest until we get justice for my son, that's for sure," Moore said.

Allen leaves behind a 7-year-old son. Moore said her son had a heart of gold and didn't deserve to have his life taken away.
