Georgia Little Caesars employee accused of murdering manager inside store, GBI says

LEESBURG, Ga. — A Georgia Little Caesars store manager was shot multiple times and killed inside his store by one of his employees on Friday night, according to both the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and 11Alive's NBC affiliate WALB in Albany, Georgia.

The incident happened at one of the Leesburg, Georgia, stores in the southern part of the state, about 15 minutes away from Albany.

The GBI and the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested 28-year-old Daquan Harris of Lithona and charged him with felony murder and aggravated assault. Authorities said he gunned down 50-year-old Joseph Dorminey of Leesburg inside his restaurant located on U.S. 19 North in Lee County.

11Alive's NBC affiliate WALB reported that Dorminey was the restaurant manager and that both he and Harris were actively employed at that Little Caesars at the time of the deadly shooting.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to the Little Caesars around 9:20 p.m., and when deputies got there, they found Dorminey suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, where he later died, the GBI said.

On Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m., Harris was arrested by Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies. He was booked into the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Little Caesars released a statement to 11Alive about the death of Dorminey:

"We are devastated to learn about what happened last night at one of our franchise locations in Georgia.  Our deepest condolences go out to the friends and family of this crew member.  We are cooperating with authorities as they conduct their investigation."
