Warner Robins Police: Estranged husband still on the run after shooting and killing wife's friend

Sgt. Justin Clark with Warner Robins Police says it happened around 9:15 a.m. Friday.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Warner Robins Police are still searching for a man accused of shooting a 19-year-old on March Street Friday morning.

The police department says Demarion Harris was at his friend's house at 705 March Street in the Huntington Hills subdivision. Sgt. Justin Clark with Warner Robins Police says it happened quickly and can be narrowed down to a five-minute window.

"Her estranged husband comes into the residence, and then shoots Mr. Harris one time, and then flees the scene," Clark said.

He says the woman and her husband have a history of domestic calls.

"Various things. Arguments. Some physical confrontations, threats, things like that. Not exactly how long the domestic history has been going on, but they have been together for six years or more," Clark explained.

So, he thinks Harris' death was related to that history.

"It wasn't an unknown person to unknown person. All parties were known to each other," Clark said.

The police department is not releasing the alleged shooter's identity until he's in custody. Even though the shooter has a weapon, Clark does not believe he's a threat to the community.

"I think this was more of a domestic jealousy issue, rather than him going out and doing random violence," Clark said.

Clark added they have a lot of good information to work with.

If you have any information on the case, you can call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME or Warner Robins Police at (478) 302-5380.

The company that manages Huntington Hills, Hunt Properties, sent 13WMAZ a statement:

"We are aware of the tragic incident that occurred at a home located on March Street. We are cooperating with the local police on their investigation and will continue to monitor the situation."
