Cordele murder suspect in custody after running from courthouse

She ran away from the courthouse after a judge revoked her bond

CORDELE, Ga. — A Dooly County woman charged with a Cordele homicide is back in custody after escaping from the Crisp County courthouse this morning.

According to Cordele Police, 19-year-old Franekia West ran away from the courthouse around 11 a.m. Thursday when a judge revoked her bond.

West was out on bail on charges of murder and aggravated assault for the fatal May 2018 shooting of Kelvin Brown.

A patrolling officer captured West and she is now back in jail on additional charges of obstruction and escape.
