MACON, Ga. — An Atlanta man was arrested and charged in a series of burglaries in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
53-year-old James Darrell Essick is accused of breaking into multiple businesses between December 23 and December 28.
According to the release, deputies responded to a call to the Macon Wings on Northside Drive. They were able to get footage of the suspect and the car the suspect was in.
Essick was identified as a person of interest. They found him in the 2000 block of Bowman Road. He was taken into custody and is a person of interest in eight other burglaries in north Macon.
On December 23, Jersey Mikes was burglarized. The next day the Tropical Smoothie Cafe had money taken from their tip jar.
On Christmas, the Tropical Smoothie Cafe was burglarized. Then on Wednesday, Hype Wings was broken into and he attempted to break into B. Monroe Salon, according to the release. Macon Wings, Fried Green Tomatoes, Wagers Grill and Bar, Jimmy John’s and Sherwin Williams were all broken into on Thursday night.
Essick has been charged with eight counts of Felony Second Degree Burglary, Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony and Theft by Taking. Essick is also wanted in Fulton and Cobb County. He currently has no bond.
