ATLANTA — It's the game that pits the two biggest Georgia households against each other -- Georgia and Georgia Tech square off on Saturday under the lights at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
On the campus of Georgia Tech, the excitement is building as storefronts prep for a spike in business and fans look forward to game day.
Just like the teams, businesses in the heart of Georgia Tech’s campus are getting ready for the foot traffic and visitors that will come through and shop at their respective stores.
Erica Simon helps manage Ray’s Pizza but wants folks to know no matter what team you’re rooting for -- all are welcome.
“I’m an ally for both teams. I’m right in the middle," Simon said.
Simon said she has expected a boost in business as thousands of fans looking for a place to watch the game come to campus on Saturday. Her team has been prepping for it.
“About two hours early, they just get everything prepped. As for the front of house, we just make sure we have a full team and we have everything stocked," she said. "People love beer on game day so we make sure all of our taps and kegs are set up."
Grad student Autum Peterson said there’s no question of who she’ll be cheering for.
“Georgia Tech, of course!" she exclaimed.
Peterson is spending part of the day scoping out spots to enjoy the game.
“I have some friends in the area, so we may get together and watch it or watch it at one of the nearby restaurants. So yeah, I’m going to get together with friends and root for Georgia Tech," said Peterson.
The big game kicks off on Georgia Tech’s campus tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a highly-anticipated pre-game performance by Atlanta native and rapper Ludacris.
