BYRON, Ga. — A 21-year-old Byron man is back in jail after an incident at a traffic stop over the weekend.
According to the Byron Police Department, Jeffrey Burnette was arrested Sunday and charged with fleeing officers.
He also had an outstanding warrant in Bibb County for violating conditions of his bond, which stems from an aggravated assault case where he allegedly shot a 15-year-old in spring 2018 and left him in the parking lot of the La Mexicana Food Mart on Houston Road.
His family turned him over to police in that case. He is currently being held in the Peach County jail.
