Twiggs Sheriff’s Office warns of bogus deed notice letters

As we get closer to tax season, watch out for people trying to take advantage of you

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ga. — The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office is reminding people to read the fine print after recorded deed notice letters were mailed out.

According to a Facebook post from the agency, the letters look like paperwork mailed to people by the tax commissioner’s office.

However, they are from a company in California charging people $86 to do something you can already do without their help.

As we get closer to tax season, be extra vigilant when checking your mailbox or you could lose more than just $86.
