OHIO, USA — Beer lovers, rejoice! Monday Night Brewing from Atlanta has proven that Georgia knows its brews, placing second overall at the 2024 U.S. Open Beer Championship - another Peach State brewery also made the list.

Breweries nationwide—from the sun-kissed shores of Kona, Hawaii, to the rocky coasts of Portland, Maine—sent over 9,000 beers representing more than 170 styles to this prestigious competition.

Monday Night Brewing snagged an impressive four gold medals and four bronze medals. Their gold medal-winning brews included Spoken Wisdom, Tears of Our Enemies, Madrigal, and Simple Illusion. This isn’t their first rodeo; Monday Night Brewing has consistently finished in the U.S. Open’s Top Ten Breweries several times, proving they can’t be topped—except this year, by Third Eye Brewing from Hamilton, Ohio.

Georgia’s brewing scene didn’t stop with Monday Night. Cherry Street Brewpub at Halcyon also made the Top Ten list, securing fifth place overall. They brought a taste of Georgia to the competition and proved our state’s brewing talents are nothing to scoff at.

On a lighter note, the competition also celebrates creative beer names. This year, Georgia entries shined with Athen's Akademia Brewing’s "Just Give Me ALL The Bacon" and Cherry Street Brewing at Vickery Village’s "Fat Kids Birthday Party," both of which ranked high on the laugh meter.
