"A couple of weeks ago a whole bunch of lovely ladies that are local to Macon got together wanting to support each other. They decided that they wanted to support women altogether, and this month do something really big," said Ashley Pardington of Fatty's Pizza.
Taylor Couey, Front of House and Bar manager of Kinjo Kitchen + Cocktails, said they owe special thanks to those women for putting together the drive.
"We are so excited to be partnering with Chrissy, Tina, Ashley, and Sarah Lynn with doing this," she said.
Pardington says the women love supporting the community where they live and work.
"Well we want everyone to come out and support us today, we um...we're interested in giving back to the community in a really good and positive way, especially in supporting the women when we can," she said.
Not only is the initiative supporting local businesswomen, but women all across the state.
The Crisis Line and Safe House is "a nonprofit agency serving family violence, sexual assault, and stalking victims and their children in a seven-county area in Central Georgia, including Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, and Twiggs counties," according to their website.
Their mission is to provide crisis intervention and shelter along with services like legal assistance, counseling sessions, and more to victims of violence.
"They offer safe housing, legal help, and are really big on helping people through domestic violence or sexual assault. They just have a great cause and they're all in central Georgia so we wanted to support somebody local who also supports women," Pardington said.
She went on to say that they have a very tight knit community amongst themselves, much like the community the Crisis Line and Safe House provides.
Lori Smithberger, the General manager of Parish, agreed. She said that for any woman who maybe wants to start a business or join their community, support abounds.
"There's a big support team out there...there's so much help in Macon that's out there," she said.
Laura Bassett, the General Manager of Fatty's invited everyone to come on out and see what it's about.
"Just everybody come out and support local restaurants and businesses, but especially women owned businesses and a good cause," she said.
So, whether you decide to dine out tonight or just go for some drinks and desserts, know that your money is going to a good place.
