MACON, Ga. — Get ready for some tasty tequila and tacos at a new Macon establishment.
Pedro's Tacos and Tequila Bar had their grand opening Wednesday morning on Riverside Drive, where the old Cheddar's used to be
Several staff and family members took some whacks at a piñata to get the party started.
The restaurant offers a variety of Mexican food and drinks, and their Al pastor tacos are sure to make your mouth water. The place was bustling with customers soon after the doors opened.
Their bar is also well stocked with liquor, and they had several margarita and mixed drink options that looked incredible. The salsa was also a star, paired with crispy chips and melty queso. A very good Verde also graced plates, bringing the perfect kick of flavor to meals.
The inside adds to the dining experience, with beautiful flowers and lights lining the ceiling (especially in the party room) and colorful murals on the walls.
When asked about what Pedro's was all about, Manager Jonathan Barragan says they want folks to have a good time.
"We are all about our tacos, tequila, our fajitas, everything like that. Just good vibes, good times, and good music," he said.
It was clear the family was very passionate about their business, making sure every customer felt welcome and taken care of.
Gustavo Barragan, son of owner Gus Barragan, says they grew up in Macon and love serving the people here.
"We've lived in Macon our whole lives...it's important to promote the community, support the community, and have the community involved in the work and in the...you know...the consumption of the food," he said.
