MACON, Ga. — It's Burger Week in Macon. Restaurants across town are showing off their best burgers; at the end of it all, you get to choose the winner.
The Library Taphouse and Kitchen was last year's Burger Week champ.
This year their burger features a beef brisket short rib patty topped with smoked pork belly, American cheese, fried pickle spears, crispy chicken fried bacon and a housemade Jack Daniels bacon jam.
Kitchen Manager Lorenzo Johnson says they took inspiration from a popular children's tale for the burger with three kinds of pork.
"We're sticking with the theme of our restaurant being the Library and last year we won with the Bernstein Burger so we're keeping the theme with books so we named this one The Three Little Pigs," he said.
Johnson said coming up with the idea for the burger was a collaborative effort.

"I sat down with the Executive Chef Reggie Perkins and we just came together to think about different things, something that could be different and something that may not have been offered in the years previous," he said.
Johnson said it's the best feeling when people enjoy something you help create.
