MACON, Ga. — Bacon day is just around the corner on Dec.30.
Visit Macon has just the thing to help you "pig" out before you have to keep those healthy habits with your New Year's resolutions.
The Macon Bacon Trail is the newest addition to the Visit Macon app and showcases 19 different local restaurants.
Each eatery has a dish that features bacon in some shape or form, and you can earn digital badges by stopping and giving each one a try. You can ask staff at the restaurants to scan a bacon QR code, or if you have location services turned on in your phone settings it will pick up on your location and let you access the badge for where you are.
You can download the Tour Macon app here, or go to the Visit Macon website for instructions.
So many places have dishes on the trail, including:
- Tommy's Bakery
- Jag's Pizzeria
- Yollah
- H&H
- Loom
- Parish on Cherry
- Dovetail
- The Rookery
- Gateway Café
- Cashman's
- Piedmont Brewery
- Macon Bagels
- Bearfoot tavern
- Kinjo Kitchen + Cocktails
- Romo's Pizza
- Miramar

You can find pictures of each bacon creation here.
To redeem your badges for prizes after you eat your way around town, you can bring your phone by the Visit Macon Center located at 450 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Macon and show them your badge page.
For 5 badges you get a koozie and bacon trail sticker, for 10 badges you get a mug, and for 15 badges you can get a t-shirt along with being entered into a raffle for two season passes for Macon Bacon Baseball!
You can also take photos of your bacon-themed dishes and post them to social media, with the hashtag #MaconBaconTrail. You can also see some of the other dishes people have posted under the hashtag.
