'Made with passion, served with pride': Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q opens in Warner Robins

After the festivities commenced, a line stretched behind the building as folks waited to try some delicious dishes.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Get ready to "meat" the newest restaurant in Warner Robins and see how their barbeque is making the community smile.

Jim 'N Nicks Bar-B-Que started over 39 years ago in Birmingham, Alabama, and on Wednesday they opened in Warner Robins.

They cut the ribbon with a blow torch, because when making barbecue "the only way to start a fire is with fire," CEO Brian Lyman said.

The restaurant also gave back to the community and partnered with the Genesis Joy House homeless shelter to raise $2,500 for the shelter at its recent family and friends’ weekend.

After the festivities commenced, a line stretched behind the building as folks waited to try some delicious dishes.

Lyman said they're excited to serve the Houston County community and want folks to try their menu.

"This feels special, and I mean that. We had such a community outpouring. We hired 85 of Warner Robins's best I'd like to believe, and they're in there right now putting together some scratch-made goodness, no freezer, no microwave, so I'm thrilled. it's like the first day of school, only better," he said.

You could feel the excitement in the air as staff rushed around to make sure each customer had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, and lots of folks smiled as they ate their lunch.

Lyman said the food is made with love and that's why folks flock to their dining room.

"It's made with passion, served with pride. The mac and cheese, the cheese biscuits, the collard greens, you name it. All of these people are ready to enjoy it, and it's gonna be fun to see them take their first bite of a cheese biscuit," he said.

If you want to visit Jim 'N Nicks for yourself, you can find them at 4060 Watson Boulevard in Warner Robins. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and then from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. They stay open until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Jim 'N Nicks plans to open six additional locations over the next year.

According to a press release, they are "eager to bring new team members on board to continue [our] mission of treating customers like family."
