'They love it here': Bodega Brew in downtown Perry is a cool community staple

They are locally owned, and owner Jodi Daley's passion for the place shines through in every cup of Joe.

PERRY, Ga. — This time of year, everyone is driving to Perry for the Georgia National Fair. But while you're there, you might want to stop by this downtown coffee shop on your way home.

Bodega Brew sits in the heart of downtown Perry and serves up several coffees (and smiles) daily.

The inside is cozy and comforting and makes customers feel right at home.

They are locally owned, and owner Jodi Daley's passion for the place shines through in every cup of Joe.

"We're basically a place where folks come and hang out, with their friends and family. Most of the time we hear that they love it here; they feel relaxed," she said. "A lot of folks that are single or by themselves, they love coming here because they feel comfortable and they meet new friends, and we're always chatting with them as well so it's a lot of fun. It's like family."

Not only is it a place of fellowship, but it is a place to grab some delicious food to pair with your drinks.

They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, complete with pastries, cookies and bagels in the morning. They also offer soups, salads and sandwiches in the evening, and wings, tacos and other savory plates for dinner.

Daley also highlighted their snack plates like charcuterie boards (called Bodega Boards) made with homemade tomato jam, honey and other treats. They also have homemade hummus and pies.

Local ingredients and homemade food are a big staple of their menu, and the shop even makes its own drink syrups which they flavor their coffee with. Sitting down to drink a cup, you notice that lots of the drinks, wines and treats are from Georgia as well.

"We make all of our own syrups and people love that. We use a local coffee brew from Athens, 1000 Faces," said Daley.

The coffee shop feels like home, and it's filled with products that are made where the heart is.

If you're looking for drink recommendations, Daley says she loves a tasty latte with honey and cinnamon. They make a mean lavender cold foam as well.

Whatever your preference, the staff in the shop would love to welcome you in.

The place has several specials going on right now, including live entertainment, downtown Perry events and even tomato pie Tuesdays.

Daley says if you put your order in for a pie by Sunday night, you can pick it up at the eatery on Tuesday.

If you want to swing by Bodega Brew and grab a drink or some food, you can find them at 1025 Ball Street.

They are open Tuesday - Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Thursday - Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
