Cool concert concessions: See the refreshments Macon's new amphitheater has to offer

The venue's debut comes on Sunday, where ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd are set to perform.

MACON, Ga. — As the Atrium Health Amphitheater is gearing up to welcome concertgoers, their chefs are 'preparing' too....with lots of concessions.

"We have something for everybody here...we try to make sure that we pick items that are going to be full meals, or if you're just looking for something to bite at, we've got it all I believe," said chef John Schmitz.

Folks attending the amphitheater's concert on Sunday will be the first to try their line of concessions.

They have it all - beer, chicken, cookies, tacos, chips, and so much more.

"We have our crispy fried chicken with hot honey, we also have our sausage sampler platter...we feature S.L. Sausage's Vidalia onion link sausage," Schmitz said.

He also said there's two categories of foods - sweet treats and standard concessions.

"Also in the sweets category you'll have a jalapeño cheddar slider that goes with a Hawaiian bun. We also will have sausage links featured later, probably in the next month, out on a grill cart where we'll have three different sausages for everyone to enjoy," he said.

Another hit of the menu is tacos - that come in three different flavors (all delicious). You can find them in the East concession stand.

"We have a barbeque brisket taco with cilantro slaw, and we also have a buffalo chicken taco with a celery blue cheese slaw, and then a pork belly taco with an Asian slaw," Schmitz continued.

There will also be a barbeque stand on the west side of the venue that serves pulled pork sandwiches and brisket sandwiches, along with house made kettle chips.

They've also partnered with brands like Fall Line Brewing and S.L. Sausage Company to bring local products to the venue.

Andrea Smith, Sales Manager for Fall Line, says they have a variety of spirits to choose from.

"We're gonna have our three mainstays. One is a lager, which is an American style lager, very easy drinking. We also have our daily rye, which is a wheat ale that is brewed with tangerine puree and orange zest. We're also gonna have the Cloudbreaker, which is our hazy IPA. We also are gonna have a rotating seasonal, and currently its the Yoshi, which is the cherry blossom pilsner," she explained.

General Manager David Aiello says they've worked hard to make sure guests have lots of fun... and food.

"Our staff and our company have been hard at work to make sure that Sunday when Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top come in...its gonna be a great show for everybody," he said.
