MACON, Ga. — Chick'n Cone of Macon is closing after one year in business, according to a post on their Facebook page.

They sold chicken in waffle cones, a different take on the classic dish of chicken and waffles as well as other items.

Their full statement says:

"Chick'n Cone of Macon is unfortunately shutting its doors for good. As a family owned business we hoped to become a permanent staple within the community; however, not all business ventures are meant to be permanent. We will always remember the memories given to us by you, our amazing customers and the wonderful staff we had the privilege working with. Thank you for all the love and support we are forever grateful."

In the comments on the same post they said Thursday was their last day open.

13WMAZ reported on Chick'n Cone last year as a part of Central Georgia Eats.

Wesley Kostovetsky owns the business with his wife, Fabiola, and they told 13WMAZ they originally got the idea to sell the chicken waffle cones while living in Southern Florida.

They hand-make the cones and shape them before chopping up freshly made chicken tenders and tossing them in sauce before filling the cone and drizzling your choice of dressing on top.

They also offered several side options, like Cajun corn and mac and cheese. Their hand spun milkshakes were a fan favorite.

At the time of their first interview with 13WMAZ they said the restaurant was doing very well in Macon and sees a pretty full lunch rush.

Chick'n Cone is located at 860 Forsyth Street across from the Atrium Health Medical Center.
