ATLANTA — A pit bull rescue from Atlanta named Miss Peaches is gaining national attention after Barstool Sports president Dave Portnoy adopted her.
The internet has fallen in love with Miss Peaches through videos on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, highlighting her sweet demeanor and the progress she has made in showing her full personality from when she was first rescued to days after being adopted.
Miss Peaches was rescued in early February and was adopted by Portnoy in Atlanta on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.
The Atlanta rescue shelter that saved Miss Peaches, LifeLine Animal Project, is now reaping the reward of Portnoy's adoption. After his new pup gained fame online, followers of Barstool Sports pleaded to Portnoy for Miss Peaches merchandise.
Portnoy launched a merch line for his new dog on Feb. 17, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to LifeLine Animal Project in Atlanta. As of 3 p.m. Thursday, Portnoy and Barstool had already raised $150,000 for LifeLine.

LifeLine rescued Miss Peaches along with 26 other dogs from a neglect, breeding and hoarding situation in Atlanta, Portnoy said.
She was introduced to the world on Portnoy's social media on Feb. 14, when he posted the video of the first moments he met Miss Peaches while picking her up from an employee at LifeLife in Atlanta.
Portnoy explained the full story of how he found out about Miss Peaches in the post below:
LifeLine shared the heartwarming story of Miss Peaches' rescue on TikTok in a post made on Tuesday.
She originally came into the shelter named Dubai when she was in their Fulton County Animal Services location. She came in from a neglectful situation, where she had patches of hair missing, itchy skin and multiple litters of puppies.
In less than three weeks, Miss Peaches was healing alongside foster dogs Lana and Chestnut. Portnoy was connected to Miss Peaches' foster family, and the rest, they say, is history.
Fans were even joking in Dave Portnoy's Instagram comments once he started posting his usual content, saying they wanted less of him and more of Miss Peaches.
Miss Peaches even has her own Instagram account, which has amassed 336,000 followers in just a few days. Portnoy said the Miss Peaches Instagram account had been Barstool Sports' fastest-growing social media account ever.
LifeLine Animal Project is a nonprofit "with a mission of ending the shelter euthanasia of healthy and treatable animals," according to the organization's website. LifeLine manages the Fulton and DeKalb County Animal shelters.
