It took fire crews about 25 minutes to control the fire at a house on Applewood Street early Saturday morning. Firefighters had to deal with heavy fire conditions when they arrived, but all occupants and pets were safely removed from the home.

One firefighter was taken to a hospital to be treated for burns, but no other injuries were reported.

The fire department is investigating the incident at this time, and said it is important for everyone to make sure they have working smoke alarms in every level of their homes.
