ATLANTA -- The young man with Down Syndrome, who melted hearts all across the Internet with his sweet reaction to getting accepted into the University of Georgia, will soon see his name in lights in the Big Apple!

Last year, WMAZ's sister station WXIA introduced viewers to Jordan Huffman, who dreamed of one day becoming part of the Dawg Nation. A video of him opening his acceptance letter went viral.

But now, in a matter of weeks, Huffman will be featured on a billboard in Times Square as the face for the National Down Syndrome Society's Down Syndrome awareness campaign. Huffman was selected out of thousands of people to have his picture showcased throughout the month of October in one of the U.S.'s busiest cities.

Huffman's photo is part of a video presentation produced by the society to remind the world about the gifts people with Down Syndrome bring to their communities. It's a timely campaign after new reports claim that the developmental disability is disappearing from Iceland due, in part, to the rise of prenatal screenings.

WXIA's Kaitlyn Ross hosted Huffman and his mother at the Atlanta station to ask him about the experience.

"I was really, really, very happy and I got so excited," Huffman said.

Huffman and his mom Kathryn said they think it will be a good example for for other people, especially kids, who also have Down Syndrome.

"It is great," he said.

Huffman said he's looking forward to seeing his photo on the billboard, but the best part will be making his family smile: "I know my dad is really proud of me, as is my family," Huffman said.
