ATLANTA (AP) - Gregg Allman, Sam Moore and the late Philip Walden Jr. are among nine to be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
The 37th annual awards will be held Saturday evening at the Georgia World Congress Center. It will air live on Georgia Public Television at 8 p.m.
Others inductees include John Huie, the band Drivin' N' Cryin', John and Jane Barber and Monica Pearson. Posthumous inductees include Tim Wilson, Walden and Sonny Limbaugh.
Allman, founder of the Allman Brothers Band, will be honored for his songwriting achievements with his third Georgy Award. Allman is known for penning the hits, "Melissa," ''Whipping Post" and "Midnight Rider."
Jeff Dauler and Robin Meade will co-emcee the show.
Miss America Betty Cantrell, Allman and Drivin' N' Cryin' are expected to perform.
