PERRY, Ga. — The Perry Players are brining you back to a part of your childhood in their newest production.
Lily Bourgeault and other talent at the Perry Players Community Theater are ready to show off their skills in Seussical The Musical.
Seussical is basically a bunch of Dr. Seuss books put to music but it's primarily about Horton Hears a Who.
Bourgeault's character, like many people, is influenced by love.
"I play Gertrude Mcfuzz and I am crazy in love with Horton and I am begging for him to notice how in love with him I am," she said.
Bourgeault says preparation for this performance is different than most shows she's been apart of.
"We've had about 4 weeks give or take in the theater to put on a show which is crazy," she said.
That prep work has some big shoes to fill.
"The last 3 shows we have sold out every show almost. 80% of our shows have been sell outs," President of the board for Perry Players Jimmy Stricklen said.
Stricklen expects the show to have the same success.
"Absolutely, we are expecting really good numbers for this show. We always expect sell outs," Stricklen said.
"You put a lot of sacrifice and work into it and you spend hours upon hours upon hours into it, but we do it because we love and we care about our audience so we put our best show forward that we can," Bourgeault said.
Opening night for the show is December 1.
