MACON, Ga. — The classic rock band AC/DC announced a stadium tour across the United States on Monday, and fans are excited to see the 1970s icons hit the road again.
With hits like "Thunderstruck," "TNT" and "It's a Long Way to the Top", the band has a catalog of classic rock hits that dominated the airwaves in the '70s and still have lasting staying power in American pop culture.
But there's bad news for AC/DC fans in Georgia. The band's tour is bypassing Atlanta and Georgia in favor of other southern cities.
So what's the closest show for Georgians looking to catch AC/DC live?
There are two ideal locations for Georgians looking to get in on the action: Nashville and Tampa.
For people in Georgia, which show is better really depends on where you are.
Macon residents are split almost exactly in the middle. It takes roughly 5.5 hours to get to either Nashville's Nissan Stadium or Tampa's Raymond James Stadium.
But if you are south of Macon, it is faster to get to Tampa than it will be to get to Nashville. If you're north of Macon in Monroe County of metro Atlanta, Nashville will be closer.
Fans looking to get tickets will have to wait. Tickets will go on sale on Dec. 6, 2024.
AC/DC will be coming to Tampa on May 16, 2025 and Nashville on May 20, 2025. That's a Friday show in Tampa and a Tuesday show in Nashville.
