The Moonhanger Group's Cox Capitol Theatre has teamed up with The Big House Museum to bring a music legend to town right before Christmas. Chuck Leavell & Friends will perform at the Cox on December 21. It's a benefit for the Allman Brothers museum on Vineville Avenue. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, November 27 at noon. Prices range from $35 to $62.50, and sponsorships are available starting at $1000, and include table seating. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the show is slated for 8:00 p.m.

This concert is the kickoff to a new partnership between the Big House and Cox Capitol Theatre. In a news release from the Big House, Moonhanger Group manager, Wes Griffith, says he's excited about this "fruitful partnership" between the institutions. He adds, "Given The Big House Foundation's mission of preserving an iconic part of Macon's rich musical history and Moonhanger's mission to celebrate Macon while constantly striving to provide top-notch dining and entertainment options for Maconites and its visitors, we feel that this is the perfect partnership. It is also quite fitting that we get to kick this series off with such a fine performer/philanthropist/Georgian like Chuck Leavell."

Leavell's musical career spans more than three decades, and he's performed with dozens of acts; Most notably, The Allman Brothers Band, and the Rolling Stones. He moved to Macon in 1969, and has lived all over the world since then.
