MACON, Ga. — Nicole Bailey-Covin joined the 13WMAZ team as Content Coordinator in August 2021. She is also a Multiplatform News Producer with more than 12 years of television news reporting experience.
She serves in the role of Community Engagement for the newsroom. She also focuses on community diversity issues and is part of the 13WMAZ’s Diversity and Inclusion Team.
Nicole grew up in Macon, Ga, and interned at 13WMAZ as a student at Shorter University in Rome, Ga.
After graduation, she started reporting for the NBC affiliate in town. She also worked at WALB in Albany, Ga. for more than 8 years. Her accomplishments include developing the long-running “Dialogue” talk show for WALB.
She continued using her broadcasting skills in Albany at Albany State University. There, she was instrumental in developing the campus’ Channel 19 Cable Television and WASU FM Radio stations. She also served as Producer/Director for the stations for three years.
In Atlanta, Nicole’s online experiences included writing for CBSLocal.com and working with Cox Media Group’s National Content Desk.
Before joining 13WMAZ, Nicole was the Content Coordinator for Mercer University’s Center for Collaborative Journalism.
She is also a professional photographer who especially enjoys photographing beautiful skies, landscapes, families, and food. Nicole is married with two children.
