Woman leads Crisp Co. Sheriff on short chase before losing control of stolen car

No serious injuries were reported.

A woman led a deputy on a short chase before losing control of a car in Crisp County Wednesday morning.

Alexia Scott, 21, of Rex, Georgia is in the custody of the Warwick Police Department on pending charges, according to a Crisp County Sheriff's Office news release.

Around 10:10 a.m., Crisp County E-911 dispatched a lookout for a stolen grey Chevrolet Malibu from the Warwick Police Department.

Around 10:20 a.m., Sheriff Hancock tried to stop a grey Chevrolet Malibu driven by Scott, near the intersection of Old Hatley Road on Georgia Highway 300.

Scott did not stop and fled northbound on Highway 300 and Corporal Purvis joined the chase.

Scott lost control of the car and wrecked while trying to turn south on I-75 at mile marker 99. She was treated and released by Crisp Regional Hospital before she was taken into custody.

No serious injuries were reported.

It was also discovered Scott had stolen a Nissan Maxima from Albany, Ga.

The stolen Nissan from Albany was recovered in Warwick when Scott stole the Chevrolet Malibu from Warwick.

According to the release, multiple warrants are pending from Albany Police Department and Warwick Police Department.
