The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office announced through a video on Facebook that a missing teen with ties to Jones County has been found safe after almost two years.
Aubrey Jayce Carroll, then 15, was reported missing after not returning home from high school on May 24, 2016.
Carroll was listed on the FBI’s missing persons site and was believed to be endangered.
At a vigil held on January 11, 2017, his mother said, "He was the most caring little boy I've ever encountered in my life. Most boys are rough and tough. He was just the opposite of that, he would take the shirt off of his back and give it to someone else.”
The video does not go into detail about where Carroll has been for the last two years, but he says he appreciates everyone’s prayers and that he’s been fine and smiling.
