Kim Fernandez teaches fourth grade language arts at Bleckley County Elementary School.
Fernandez says she thinks reading is a fundamental skill and hopes she can instill the same love for literature that she has in her students.
"Reading is a foundational skill for everybody and if I can get kids excited about reading, then it just makes me feel like I've done my job," Fernandez said.
Elisabeth Conley is one of Fernandez's students. She says Fernandez teaches what she loves most.
"She teaches reading, language arts, and writing; that's really cool, because language arts is my favorite subject," said Conley.
Conley says Fernandez tells the class she's thankful to have the best fourth grade class, and the class is thankful for their teacher.
"If you need help, she's always there for you. She's very funny and unique," Conley said.
Congratulations to Mrs. Fernandez on being this week's top teacher!
