MACON, Ga. — A Macon man died Thursday after drowning at the Lake Wildwood clubhouse.
According to Bibb Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley, it happened around 2 p.m. at the pool on 100 Clubhouse Road.
He says someone spotted 44-year-old Wayne Jenkins unresponsive in the pool.
Jenkins was taken to Coliseum Northside Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:56 p.m.
Miley says there are a number of drownings that happen this time of year and that people should be cautious in any body of water.
Wayne Fuller, the president of the Lake Wildwood Association, says the incident happened while two lifeguards were on break.
