Georgia extends deadline for SNAP recipients to report lost food

The move comes after power outages across the state that left millions without power - and some with spoiled food

If you’re a SNAP recipient and you lost food during a power outage caused by Hurricane Michael, you now have extra time to report those losses.

SNAP recipients have until Wednesday, Oct. 31 to fill out forms requesting replacement of lost food.

Georgia DFCS asked for the extension to aid low-income families since many were displaced from their houses as Michael hit Georgia.
