Chef and Spirits Extravaganza gives back to the Middle Georgia Food Bank

The 'Chef and Spirits Extravaganza' will bring together food and fun for a good cause.

This Saturday, celebrity chef Jernard Wells will bring his talents to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank for a night of food, fun, and most importantly, giving back!

Wells, along with local catering companies, and aspiring chefs will serve up delicious dishes all to keep the Middle Georgia Food Bank full.

The thirty-one thousand square foot warehouse supplies the 'Backpack Program,' which helps send central Georgia students who battle with food insecurities home with food for the weekend.

Wells says he is honored to partner with the middle Georgia food bank, and excited to "wow" people's tastebuds.

"Kids go home hungry, I'm here just trying to help the world one bite at a time," Wells says. "His event is highlighting chefs, and highlighting them because there's awareness that needs to be made, as well as showing how great food can be.. that's one of the key things in it."

Executive Director of the Middle Georgia Food Bank, David Griffin, says this one night will make a huge difference for many in the community.

"It means a whole lot, and not just for me, and just for the people here, but for the people, for those we serve in the community, especially the kids," says Griffin.
