Bibb County Sheriff's Office investigating after fatal accident in west Macon

It is believed that the driver may have had a medical issue, causing the accident.

A man is dead and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a fatal accident on Friday morning.

The accident took place around 10:20 a.m. near the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and Oglesby Place, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office news release.

The driver of a 2003 Ford Expedition, William Barber, 38, from Macon, was traveling west on Eisenhower Parkway.

Witnesses say Barber’s vehicle left the road, crossed into a ditch and then struck a parked U-Haul truck with no one inside.

According to witness statements, Barber may have had a medical issue that caused the fatal accident.

Barber was transported to the Navicent Health Center, where he was pronounced dead by the Emergency Center doctors.

No one else was injured or involved in the accident
