An 11-year-old is in critical condition after being struck by a car early Wednesday evening, according to the Cordele Police Department.
A release from the police department says the accident occurred near the Wendy's on Highway 280.
The child was crossing the road with a 13-year-old when he was struck by a Nissan Maxima.
The 13-year-old was not injured, but the 11-year-old suffered a head injury and is in critical condition at the Crisp Regional Hospital.
The police department says the driver of the car is cooperating with the investigation.
They say names have not been released as this is an open investigation.
